Uniform Guidelines

Uphill Primary School has a school uniform as we believe it helps to set the right learning attitudes in school. It is a leveller of individuals and is good value for money. Please ensure your child wears the correct uniform at all times and all items are clearly labelled with their full name.

Our school colour is royal blue. It is essential that all clothes and belongings are clearly labelled with your child’s name; this includes bags, PE kits, hats and shoes.

Jewellery is not permitted, except plain stud earrings and a wrist watch. Nail varnish and make-up are not permitted. Long hair must be tied back during the school day. Pupils are not allowed to wear trainers, except for PE. Correct school footwear must be worn at all times outside of PE activities. Sandals must strap securely to the feet and socks worn with them.

We expect girls to wear a skirt of a suitable length i.e. knee length. Pupils that attend school in a skirt considered an unsuitable length will be requested to change into their P.E. kit and a letter sent home to parents.

Children must have coats in school, except in hot weather. Sun hats are required during the summer months.

Our preferred uniform stockist is NK Sports, Unit 7, Station Road, Worle. Telephone 01934 511005 or email enquiries@nksports.co.uk Parents can visit the store and try on items to ensure the correct size choice and then purchase the items. Alternatively, parents can order online and have the uniform delivered to their home (with a delivery charge) or to the store (collect for free).

This will remain in school and we will send it home at the end of each term.

Other items (Boys & Girls)

School bags are a requirement. We expect children in Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and KS1 (Years 1 and 2) to have a school bookbag.

Children in KS2 (years 3-6) can use a rucksack/backpack. This must be of a reasonable size (not too big) and be able to hang on a peg in the cloakrooms.

A dap bag (drawstring not rucksack) for the PE kit is required. A school logo version is available from our uniform stockist but is not . A dap bag can be purchased from any store or made at home.
