What is the difference between the British Isles, the United Kingdom and Great Britain?

You may have heard the country we live in referred to as Great Britain or just Britain; the United Kingdom or UK; the British Isles or England. So which is it? It can be very confusing! Hopefully this piece of learning will help you to understand the different terms that are used and why. Once you have worked through the power point there is a worksheet to complete which will show your understanding. You can print this off to record on or write the answers in your pink book or on paper. There is also an optional cut and stick activity to have a go at too if you want to extend your learning.

Your writing task this week is also linked to your project learning. Can you write a report or create a word document or presentation using your computer to tell us everything that you now know about the British Isles, Great Britain and the United Kingdom. You could even complete some research of your own to find out some extra facts too!
